Back to 2015 is a thrilling problem solving, hands on maths escape challenge that combines mindset training, productive learning dispositions, and high energy problem solving. Before the mission begins, students strengthen the habits of successful mathematicians by exploring how curiosity, persistence, flexible thinking, collaboration, and resilience can help them tackle unfamiliar challenges. Once their mindset is mission ready, they are launched into an immersive escape experience where every clue counts.
Throughout the workshop, students work in teams to solve a series of mathematical challenges, decode clues, and complete increasingly complex tasks to expose the cheating mathematician before time runs out. As the investigation unfolds, they must apply logical reasoning, identify patterns, think strategically, justify their decisions, and adapt their approach when new evidence emerges. Every challenge encourages students to persevere through obstacles, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively to unlock the next stage of the mission.
By the end of the incursion, students will have strengthened their mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and teamwork skills while discovering how a positive mindset and productive learning dispositions can help them overcome challenges, think like confident mathematicians, and crack the case before it is too late.
