Mastermind Medal Mystery
Mastermind Medal Mystery is an immersive, hands-on maths incursion designed to challenge high-ability learners through rich problem solving, mathematical reasoning, and historical discovery. When the prestigious Mastermind Medal disappears during the Mathematical Minds Masquerade, students are recruited as elite mathematical detectives tasked with uncovering the culprit before the celebration comes to an end.
Throughout the workshop, students investigate clues inspired by some of history's greatest mathematicians, exploring the mathematical ideas and discoveries that changed the world. As they move through each challenge, they solve sophisticated puzzles, analyse evidence, recognise patterns, apply logical reasoning, and connect mathematical concepts to eliminate suspects. Students will be required to think strategically, justify their decisions, collaborate effectively, and adapt their thinking as the mystery unfolds.
By the end of the incursion, students will have deepened their appreciation of influential mathematicians, strengthened their mathematical reasoning and problem solving skills, and experienced the excitement of using mathematics to crack a mystery where every clue brings them closer to recovering the Mastermind Medal.
