Operation Calculion is a thrilling, hands on maths escape challenge that transforms students into elite problem solvers on a mission to save the city. Before entering the Tech Control Building, students strengthen the productive learning dispositions needed for success by exploring how curiosity, persistence, flexible thinking, collaboration, and resilience can help them overcome complex challenges. Once the mission begins, every clue, puzzle, and decision brings them closer to stopping the threat before time runs out.

Throughout the workshop, students work in teams to solve a series of mathematical puzzles, crack security codes, and uncover hidden clues to identify the mysterious leader of The Hidden Variable Team. As the mission unfolds, they must apply logical reasoning, recognise patterns, think strategically, justify their decisions, and adapt their approach as new information is revealed. Every challenge encourages students to communicate effectively, persevere through setbacks, and collaborate to unlock the next stage of the escape challenge.

By the end of the incursion, students will have strengthened their mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and teamwork skills while experiencing the excitement of using mathematics to solve a high stakes mission where every puzzle solved brings them one step closer to saving Calculion.
