In this hands-on workshop, students will become mathematicians as they explore the intriguing world of codes, patterns, and sequences. Through a variety of challenges and puzzles, they will use clues to analyse number properties, crack codes, and tackle new and exciting problems. As they investigate patterns and uncover hidden rules, students will apply logical thinking and reasoning to solve problems in creative and collaborative ways—sparking curiosity and helping them see maths in a whole new light.

Students will have the opportunity to apply a range of positive learning dispositions—curiosity, persistence, flexible thinking, and collaboration—as they embark on their mindset training. Once their skills are sharpened, they’ll be ready to complete their top-secret mission: Operation Numeral. This workshop is perfect for students who are ready for an extra challenge and enjoy problem-solving, critical thinking, and uncovering the mysteries behind numbers and codes.

INCURSION INFORMATION

F-2 students: Workshop runs as a 1.5 incursion with approximately 25 students.

Year 3-8 students: Workshops runs as a 1.5 hour incursion with approximately 25 students.

Double classes with two presenters is also an option, approx 50 students.

A classroom/open learning space is required, along with access to a projector.

Student supervision by teachers is required throughout the session
