MRS NUMERAL CHALLENGE

Mrs Numeral's Challenge is an exciting, hands on maths escape challenge that transforms students into elite problem solvers on a mission to prove they have what it takes to join the world's greatest mathematical mastermind. Before the challenge begins, students strengthen the productive learning dispositions needed for success by exploring how curiosity, persistence, flexible thinking, collaboration, and resilience help mathematicians solve complex problems. Once the mission begins, students must work together to unlock Mrs Numeral's hidden basement and complete her final test before time runs out.

Throughout the workshop, students solve Zebra puzzles, crack secret codes, identify hidden patterns, and complete a series of increasingly challenging mathematical tasks to unlock clues hidden throughout Mrs Numeral's house. As they progress through each room, they must apply logical reasoning, interpret evidence, justify their thinking, and adapt their strategies as new challenges emerge. Every task encourages students to communicate effectively, collaborate with their team, explain their reasoning, and persevere through obstacles as they work towards uncovering the location of Mrs Numeral's hidden headquarters.

By the end of the incursion, students will have strengthened their mathematical reasoning, problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills while experiencing the excitement of completing a fast paced escape challenge. Every clue solved brings them one step closer to earning a place in Mrs Numeral's elite mathematician squad.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

$45 + GST - Half day (3 hours)

$80 + GST - Full day (The choice of two half day, high ability incursions)

5% discount on bookings over 100 student that attend, confirmed with final invoice.

INCURSION INFORMATION - HIGH ABILITY STUDENTS

Year 5-8 students: Workshops runs as a half day incursion with approximately 25 students.

Double classes with two presenters is also an option, approx 50 students.

A classroom/open learning space is required, along with access to a projector.

Student supervision by teachers is required throughout the session
