School Holiday Workshops

Our ‘Maths Mindsets’ School Holiday Workshop is an introductory session, targeted at students in Years 3-6 who lack confidence in maths and are experiencing maths anxiety in the classroom. We used evidence-based approaches to support learners to build their confidence and change their mindset towards mathematics in a positive and fun learning environment.

Our online series is targeted at students in Year 4-8 who suffer from maths anxiety or are demonstrating a fixed mindset towards mathematics. Each of the four workshops are designed to cater for students working at all ability levels, whether they are high-achievers who hate getting the answers ‘wrong’ or students that lack confidence in maths and are not reaching their full potential. We use evidence-based strategies to support students to build a range of mathematical strategies and thinking skills, embrace mistakes and challenges and improve their mindset, whilst working in a fun and collaborative online learning environment. Our workshops are designed so that students can either attend one workshop as a stand-alone session, or all four of our workshops as a series of connected lessons.

This small group, face-to-face workshop is targeted at students in Year 1-3 who lack confidence in mathematics and aren’t reaching their full potential. We use evidence-based strategies to support students to embrace mistakes and challenges, make mathematical connections and improve their mindset, whilst working in a fun and collaborative learning environment.

This 1 hour workshop will be run in a space at Mernda Central College by 2 Primary School Learning Specialists.

Our NEW face-to-face workshop, ‘Think Like a Mathematician’, is targeted at students in Year 4-6 who would benefit from being challenged and extended in mathematics. In this fun and collaborative small group session, students will be exposed to a range of problem solving skills and strategies that can be applied to a range of contexts. Students will develop their reasoning skills, as well as their ability to think flexibly and make mathematical connections.

This 1.5 hour workshop will be run in a space at Mernda Central College by 2 Primary School Learning Specialists.

This workshop will focus on developing and applying a mathematical mindset, strengthening and building on Place Value understandings, embracing mistakes and challenges with confidence, provoking thinking and exploring reasoning and problem solving strategies, explicit teaching to support students to develop their knowledge of Place Value, making connections across mathematical concepts and building maths confidence through collaborative learning.

Our ‘Mindset & Reasoning’ Workshop is the first workshop in our Proficiency series. This workshop will support students to; develop strategies for applying a mathematical mindset, strengthen and build on their reasoning skills and strategies, embrace mistakes and challenges with confidence and build maths confidence through problem solving and collaborative learning. Spaces are limited.

Our ‘Mindset & Problem Solving’ Workshop is the second workshop in our Proficiency series. This workshop will support students to; develop strategies for applying a mathematical mindset, strengthen and build on their problem solving skills and strategies, embrace mistakes and challenges with confidence, build maths understandings through problem solving, reasoning and collaborative learning. Spaces are limited.

Our ‘Mindset & Fluency’ Workshop is the second workshop in our Proficiency series. This workshop will support students to; develop strategies for applying a mathematical mindset, strengthen and build on their fluency of multiplication facts, embrace mistakes and challenges with confidence, build maths understandings through tasks that promote fluency, mathematical connections and collaborative learning. Spaces are limited.

We are celebrating our 1st Birthday with Maths Mania - a workshop full of puzzles, problems, riddles and games! In this workshop, students will be given the opportunity to build their mathematical mindset, confidence and problem solving skills, in an engaging and collaborative environment, with the support of 2 experience Primary Learning Specialists. There are also a range of FANTASTIC prizes to be won!
