Throughout the day, students will tackle intentional, challenging mathematical investigations that require creativity, persistence and deep thinking. Rather than racing to the answer, they'll learn to explore multiple strategies, justify their reasoning and embrace productive struggle as part of the learning process.
Students will:
Develop the dispositions of a mathematician, including:
Thinking flexibly
Taking risks
Persisting through challenges
Embracing mistakes
Communicating mathematical thinking
Collaborating with others
Complete a Limitless Maths Enrichment Booklet, where they will:
Record their mathematical thinking
Identify the learning dispositions they demonstrated
Reflect on challenges and successes throughout the day
Take home engaging extension activities to continue their mathematical journey.
Work alongside like-minded peers to solve rich mathematical investigations that encourage discussion, teamwork and multiple solution pathways.
Enjoy regular Puzzle Breaks and interactive maths games that keep energy high while strengthening logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Put everything they've learnt into action during an exciting Mathematical Escape Challenge Finale, where students will work collaboratively to crack codes, solve interconnected problems and unlock the final challenge.
Our Mathematical Enrichment Day has been carefully designed to provide the perfect balance between challenge, collaboration and fun. Every task is purposeful, engaging and designed to build confidence while extending students through and beyond the classroom curriculum.
Students will leave feeling inspired, empowered and excited about mathematics with new strategies, stronger mathematical dispositions, lasting friendships and plenty of ideas to continue exploring at home.
